Wahine Express Passengers – passengers are required to wear a face covering or mask when waiting in line to board and while on board the Catalina Flyer (Wahine Express).

Masks are also required while on Catalina Island. Social distancing should also be maintained at all times.

Canoe Requests

We appreciate everyone’s patience in this matter as canoes can sometimes be assigned very close to race day. We will be in contact with you with any updates.

SCORA Clubs
If you are helping a visiting team by loaning a canoe or sharing an escort boat, please let us know immediately. Please send that information to caren@scora.org

This race has many moving parts due to the multiple location logistics so please stay in contact with us as we want to work together to minimize canoe towing either to or back from Avalon.

Chase Boats

All clubs are required to complete an Intent to Race form. http://www.catalinacrossing.org/event-info/

Only Visiting Crews are given help in acquiring a chase boats. All SCORA crews must obtain chase boats on their own.

*Co-ed and/or Master Co-ed can be a mixed crew of 5 women and 4 men. Junior Coed is 6 women and 4 men.

Registration Steps/Login

We have a new site and with that come some changes.

If anyone from your club has participated in a SCORA race in the past, please use your club’s account login and do not create another one and login here.

If new to racing with SCORA register here

Once in your account:

1. Enter a coach if not already in there. Must enter them as “New”
2. IF using your own canoes – check borrowed
3. When it says “select the canoe you will be borrowing”, scroll down to “canoe not listed”, check the box of type, then type the canoe number. No need for color or name.
4. If borrowing from SCORA – same as #3 but put “unknown” in the canoe number space
5. Paddler input screen comes up – enter all of your paddlers under “Guest”.
6. Select  a coach
7. Hit next and you will be sent to the payment screen. Pay in person or online.

Visiting Crew Waivers

All paddlers, visitors, guest of clubs or support staff must complete a 2021 SCORA Liability Waiver. No exceptions.

WAHINE EXPRESS

For ladies and coeds, friends and families that don’t want to stay on the island: Chartered transportation FROM Catalina Island leaving the island at 8:00 pm (this gives everyone time to stay and enjoy the festivities, get some dinner and then head back to Newport). Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable (only for this charter). If you purchased a ticket for the Wahine Express and are not going to use your ticket, you can sell (or give) your ticket to another, (this is a chartered trip by SCORA).
